A count of 3 to 6 is enough to do the job. Insert the bills in a fold of the letter so that they are sure to come out of the envelope with the letter.

When they see the little money,they often smile and show others.

... and they save the little money, become curious as to who sent it, and examine (maybe even read) your mail.

... and if you do follow-up calls, they remember your mail.

Sprinkle 3 to 6 Mini-Money bills inside each letter.

     TIPS

Here are a few tips we've learned over the years.
  • Make a reference to the little money in your letter. This ties the theme together. Be creative, have fun... for example an investment advisor might say, "Though this is just a little money, we can help you make BIG money through our investment counseling."
  • Follow-up call - If you do a follow-up call and ask if they received your letter, just mention the Mini-Money and they'll remember!
  • Insertion - Concerned about the time to insert the Mini-Money? Well, think of it this way. You wouldn't leave out the LETTER to save a little time... why leave out the very thing that might get them to READ THE LETTER or sales literature? Hire it done if necessary, it's worth the investment.
  • Large mailings - Less than 5,000 piece mailings can easily be handled with office help. However, if you do larger mailings of 10, 50, 100 thousand or more, there is a relatively simple method for this. We did a 50,000 piece mailing for the American Heart Association and this method worked out great.

Mailings

The following is an example of the method we used on a 50,000 piece mailing for the American Heart Association. There may be more automated methods available too, but this method got excellent results. Here's how we did it.

Mailing pieces were printed, delivered to the mailing service where they did the automated insertion of the letters but left the envelopes unsealed. The many trays of envelopes with the enclosed letters were then picked up by the Home of the Guiding Hands where we many handicapped employees did hand insertion of the Sprinkles (in this case they were Hearts). They loved doing it, the price was right, and they were able to complete the job within 3 days. The trays were then delivered back to the mailing house where the envelopes were sealed, etc. (no, the Spinkles didn't fall out in the machines- but they did have to lower the speed a bit to accommodate this)
