" Each of us, as we journey through life, has the opportunity to find and to give his or her unique gift. Whether this gift is quiet or small in the eyes of the world does not matter at all - not at all; it is through the finding and the giving that we may come to know the joy that lies at the center of both the dark times and the light."

Dear Friends,

Hello! My name is Kimberly Lawless, I am participating in the 1998 GTE Big Ride across America to benefit the American Lung Association. About six months ago I made a heartfelt commitment to participate in this ride for breath.

In June of this year I will be undertaking this great endeavor beginning in Seattle, WA and finishing forty-five days later in front of our nation's capital, Washington, DC. When I volunteered to participate in this ride I made a solemn promise to myself, and the American Lung Association, to raise a minimum of six thousand dollars in donations before the start of the ride.

I NEED YOUR HELP! It is MY GOAL to raise TEN thousand dollars for the American Lung Association prior to July. All money donated will go to the American Lung Association. That's how you can help me to help your friends and neighbors that are struggling with Lung disease. I am asking you to give what you can to support this worthy cause…. with each breath, the world is richly blessed.

At the side of this letter you will find a Link to the rider pledge form. Please take a few minutes to Print the form, fill it out including my rider number which is #1445, and then send it in with your generous donation to the pledge office address on the form. You'll see how the American Lung Association makes it easy for you make a large pledge fit into your budget. By being committed to this cause we can make a difference together.

Riding out of Seattle as I embark upon this life changing adventure, I will think of your support. The commitment you make will help to remind me of the commitment I have made as I tackle whatever obstacles the ride may present. Together we can prove that anything is possible when we face our fears and take action. I sincerely thank each and every one of you for helping the American Lung Association give the precious gift of breath to people in our own community. I am ready to use the gifts I have been given to make this world a better place to live in.

Thank you ~

Kimberly Lawless
